Our Story
Griffin Insulated Structures is a family-owned business based in South Florida. We got started in 1987 when Larry Griffin realized that there was an opportunity for a company that really knew the ins and outs of cold storage construction.
Since then we’ve grown a smidge, taking on sixteen employees and building out cold storage facilities up to 200,000 square foot in size, not just in the US, but also internationally. We build about five new facilities a year, perform repairs and maintenance on lots of smaller ones, and we’ve expanded into insulating pipes and vessels as well. We have offices in West Palm Beach, Pompano Beach, and Orlando.
In spite of all that growth we’re still a family affair. Larry’s son Mike, the second generation of Griffins, is poised to take over the company. We figure that since our name is on the sign we had better make sure our work speaks for itself. When we take on a project, we’re going to make sure it gets done right. And that’s just the way it is.
Our Family
Many of our employees are part of our family, and others have been with us so long they feel like family. They’re a terrific team, and we know when we send them out into the field that the job is going to get done right. In 2013 Dennis Hay won the Construction Association of South Florida’s Craftsmanship Award, for which he was nominated by Centurium Cargo for his work on their site. We’re proud to have him on our team.
“A damn good team.” – Larry Griffin
